Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-17

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TeachIt, a lecture slide preparation and presentation service. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not register or use TeachIt.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk.

3. Roles and access

New accounts typically start with limited (audience) access. Creators and admins may create, edit, and present lecture materials. Admins may manage roles. Student watch links may allow anonymous viewing of a live presentation without an account.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of materials, slides, and other content you upload or create (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and improve the service (for example, storing assets, rendering slides, and syncing live presentations).

You represent that you have the rights needed to upload and use Your Content, and that it does not infringe others’ rights or applicable law.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt availability.
  • Do not upload malware, unlawful content, or content you are not allowed to share.
  • Do not use the service to harass others or to process special-category personal data unless you have a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.
  • Do not reverse engineer the service except where mandatory law allows.

6. Third-party services

TeachIt may integrate optional sign-in providers (such as Google or Microsoft) and optional AI features that rely on third-party APIs. Those providers have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

7. Availability and changes

We provide the service on an “as available” basis and may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We may update these Terms; the “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by law.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, or profits arising from your use of TeachIt. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including mandatory consumer protections).

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. Provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations) will survive termination.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence applies. Courts at the operator’s place of business have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer venue rules.

11. Contact

Questions about these Terms: see the Impressum for operator contact details, or review our Privacy Policy.
